Killmeyers :: NYC Beer Gardens
In 1995, Ken and Elsie Tirado purchased the Killmeyers building from the Simonson family, which had owned the property from the original Killmeyer family in 1945. The building has a long and storied history dating back to the early 1700s, and it shows in the finely restored property now known as Killmeyer's Old Bavaria Inn. This Staten Island staple plays the roles of restaurant, beer garden, and caterer to locals who have been coming here for years.
Killmeyer's serves traditional German food, and keeps an extensive collection of bottled beers on hand, as well as nine beers on tap. They cater for parties, and offer a house buffet, which includes a sampling of their house favorites. Beer garden lovers will love the Pig Roast BBQ, which is a set fee for a huge amount of food and access to an open bar.
