Zum Schneider :: NYC Beer Gardens
In August 2000, Sylvester Schneider opened Zum Schneider Beer Garden as an ode to the summers he spent in Bavaria when he was growing up. He keeps 12 German beers on tap, and the menu features traditional Bavarian-German food, with seasonal specialties. Wine lovers are also welcome at Zum Schneider -- a respectable wine list rounds out the offerings.
Zum Schneider keeps things fun by hosting events throughout the year, such as celebrations for Karneval, May Day, World Cup, Oktoberfest, Adventsingen, and New Year's Eve. Since Zum Schneider is an indoor beer garden with outdoor patio seating in the summertime, it's the perfect place to unwind in Alphabet City no matter what time of year it is.
